How Well Did Our Predictions for 2021 Hold Up?

Happy New Year everyone! 2021 was a year that just came and went for most people, but it was also a year of recovery and new opportunities to be explored. Overall, it was a lot better than the abysmal year we had in 2020 but we still have a long way to go to achieve a sense of normalcy again. To end the year off in style, I’m going to be looking back at the predictions that Caden made for this soon-to-be past year and see how well or terribly they have held up. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Covid Vaccinations have begun being administered and it will only be a matter of time before the general population will be able to be vaccinated. Hopefully, that means that Lockdowns will lessen.

This is indeed what has occurred throughout the year. The vaccine rollout started in a pretty slow and disorganized fashion but started to ramp up during the Spring months. This rollout eventually saw Canada as one of the leaders in fully vaccinated people. As it stands right now, around 76.49% of the Canadian population is fully vaccinated with 87.25% of people 12 and older being fully vaccinated as well. Children 5 years and older have also started to get their vaccine shots so things are indeed looking promising.

The new knowledge learned during the Pandemic and Lockdowns, in which many systems of individuals and world leaders can find ways to work together and improve their countries as well as the world as a whole.

We have indeed come a long way since this blew into a full-on pandemic. First and foremost, shoutouts to our front-line workers, nurses, doctors, and scientists who have worked around the clock and sacrificed so much to help the general population and our leaders to learn more about the virus and help combat it. You all have allowed countries around the globe to learn more about what measures need to be put in place to ensure everybody is safe and secure. There are still issues here and there with inconsistencies here and there regarding the rules and guidelines that our political leaders put in place - especially here in Ontario - but considering how far we have come from the beginning, we are in a better spot.

On January 20th, Joe Biden and  Kamala Harris officially take up their roles of President and Vice President respectively. Kamala Harris will be the first woman who has taken the mantle of Vice President. Congratulations to her and Joe Biden.

Yes, this did indeed happen. The inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris being sworn into office did occur on January 20th to the masses of millions not only in America but to millions of others tuning in on their televisions or streaming devices. This day was not only a day of celebration, but it also gave us one of the best memes of the year, shout out to Bernie Sanders. The only thing that could’ve possibly stopped this from happening was another Capitol riot… Which could’ve happened, but we are glad didn’t.

Creatives have been committing to different projects with love, care, and attention and those may be born this year.  Therefore we predict that there will be more new music whether it is singles or albums is to be seen.

Yes, yes, and yes! This prediction hit the nail hard here. With restrictions being put more to ease this year, we heard some very good music this year in the hip-hop industry. With artists like Drake, Ye, J Cole, Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, Migos, and many more dropping projects and singles throughout the year, it was very pleasant to hear much better-sounding music than we did in 2020. We even saw artists go back to touring this year which is always a pleasant sight. Obviously, there are still some shows being canceled due to Covid-19, but it is better than nothing if you ask me.

Snoop Dog may retaliate to Eminem dissing him in a song on his Music To Be Murdered By Album. It would be interesting to see if Snoop can still spit lyrics on par with the minds in the rap game.  Even if Snoop Dog does not retaliate some other “slighted” rapper or rappers may look to seek revenge for what they perceive as a threat or put down to themselves.

This prediction is wrong, however, and for the right reasons. Back in 2020, Eminem dissed Snoop Dogg in a song on his album Music To Be Murdered By. He then goes into context saying, “Everything he said was fine, up to a point…Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that?….it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that shit.’ Now you’re being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard.” Snoop later went on to apologize to Eminem for his comments saying, “I know how to call Marshall and say, man, I apologize…I was wrong, bro. Do you forgive me?” It seems that the two have squashed their beef as they are brothers at the end of the day and even recorded a new song for next January’s album featuring Snoop Dogg’s group Mt. Westmore, featuring the likes of Ice Cube, Too $hort, and E-40. Oh, and they’ll be doing the Superbowl together. Lit.

There may be a chance of released work that Doom had in progress. That all depends on the agreements between him and his partner as well as where the track stood at the time of his passing.

We have yet to hear about any impending music to be released from the late great MF Doom as of yet. There are discussions still being had between his label, his partner, and family over the content being released but once we hear about any details, we will be sure to share them with you all.

That pretty much wraps things up with the predictions. Overall, Caden was very accurate with the majority of them. There are a couple of outliers, however, but then again these are predictions so all is well. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years’ Eve with your friends and family and catch y’all next year!
