Ryan “The RatedR” Oscar

There aren’t many visionaries on this Earth and you are lucky you get to meet a couple in your lifetime or even be friends with them.

I present to you the very first Spotlight Profile, Ryan “the Rated R” Oscar, himself. You already know him from The Rap Clash Podcast, The Everybody Podcast, The Blackjack Pack. This man is a jack of all trades, but music is his true passion, more specifically hip hop and RnB. Starting from bro talks in the basement, a platform for all different ideas was produced. The Blackjack Pack was the inaugural project of Yonge Entertainment. Little did Parse, Rudy ‘ The Playmaker’ Geoffrey, and Ryan know that their ideas and bro talks in the basement would amalgamate to a platform for all young people. Yonge Entertainment isn’t limited only to those who live in Toronto, but the world abroad now sees this idea grow, as seen in viewership. 

History lover, music lover, sports lover. How does one gather all these passions into a success story? It is not something that is often done, and when it is the result is almost always a masterpiece. A masterpiece does not come without its challenges, whether it be pitching ideas to radio stations that do not pan out, creative differences, or even a pandemic, but do visionaries let that stop them? No sir. In fact, all of these factors fuel visionaries towards their goals, their end pieces, their babies as Ryan has so often referred to Yonge Entertainment. One thing you should know about Ryan is that when he has an idea there is no stopping him whatsoever, honestly, if you were to look up ambitious and or unstoppable in the dictionary, do not be surprised if you see his face. 

Six years of dealing with his antics (yes that’s how long we’ve known each other for), that means listening to ramblings, ideas, seeing logo design after logo design. If we weren't in a roast battle or he wasn't freestyling, OR doing anything but history papers, he was perfecting YongeEntertainment, which gave me, Parse, Rudy ‘Playmaker’ and a lot of contributors a space to be creative and Yonge. Yonge Entertainment is Ryan’s passion that he has so kindly shared with the world. That’s Ry for ya!
