To Love, Part 2

Hello! Here is the continuation of our article on love from two weeks ago. You can of course refer to it if this is your first visit, especially knowing that this is a direct follow-up and related to the previous post.

I just told you that Jesus showed us the perfect example of love by choosing to wash the dirty feet of His disciples, by publicly humiliating Himself.

Yes. I sign and I persist. Love is a choice. And from the height of my few years, I insist. Love is a choice. It is the choice to give, to sacrifice, to give in, to humiliate oneself for the other. My father and I have this joke that the youngest in the family is able to extort his elders as he pleases. I'll admit that despite all of my apparent resistance as an older sister, it wouldn't be so much of a problem for me to strip myself for my siblings. I know I would give my life for those I love, anyway, that's what I believe. I would give my life to let them know Christ, to have the best possible life.

Love is about sacrifice and humility, and what I would give for those I love, I would give to Christ first. My life belongs to Him. Because I love Him, Him first. And if I am to waste my life on it, then I know that I will have made the greatest sacrifice, for the greatest gain.

Finally, The Father is Love (1 John 4: 8). Which means that the knowledge of love comes through Him, the revelation of love comes from Him.

If you don't know who the Father is, or Christ, or Jesus, I invite you to meet Him. I believe that once you have met this, your understanding of love will increase significantly. This is done through reading the Bible. It is generally advised to start with the book of John, because it is the disciple of love. It also offers a fairly clear and straightforward perspective of the good news of Jesus Christ.

If you know God through Jesus Christ, then I advise you to rediscover who He is and the prospects for love that God has offered in His Word. In both cases ultimately, I think a homecoming is necessary. Because nothing and no one will be able to reveal the Lord of Lords to you better than Himself.

So here's my tip for the week: find love. The truth. The one who comes from God. Then learn to love as He did by offering His Son on the Cross. Learn to love without expecting anything in return. Learn to love without receiving, to sacrifice yourself without ulterior motive. Learn to give with a more open heart.

Regardless of the level of your relationship with God, I know you have work to do. And I know that because no one is ever really done. It is a field where we learn more and more every day. The more you know God, the more you will know His love. And so do I.

So, I invite you on this adventure with me: let's learn to love more!
Be abundantly blessed
