Faith
Hey!
It’s me again.
I have so many things to share with you… I don’t think I’ll be able to give anyone else here anytime soon!
As I explained it to you all last time, I have been having a rough go about it lately. There are certain parts of me that are fighting with other parts of me. Frankly, I’m not always able of taking all of these hits.
However, while I was praying about this subject and reading my Bible a few weeks ago, I believe that the Lord talked to me clearly.
I was telling God that I had faith; that I believed that He could help me overcome these struggles. I was telling God that I couldn’t do it without Him.
It’s then that this question came to my spirit: “Do you place your faith in the Lord? It’s easy to know that He is, that He is there,. But do you believe that He can actually solve your issues? If you do not place your faith in God, it means that you will always take control when you know God should be at the head of everything!”
My first reaction was to reply: “But, I believe in you God!” It is, at that moment, the same idea that came resounding in my mind, “Do you believe that I can act in your life?”
And that hit me. Having faith in God doesn’t simply mean that I am conscious of His person and personhood. On the contrary, that means that I believe that He is the Sovereign Lord of the Universe, capable of acting and creating a world with everything that needs to be inside of it.
When I spoke of this experience with one of my brothers, he reminded me of this verse that I would like to share with you all, which reads: “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder” (James 2:19). The context isn’t perfectly in-line, but here, James speaks of the different types of faith, but he presented something that should be foundational in faith today.
The demons most certainly know that God is and they fear Him, for they are conscious of his power. Us, on the other hand, have a tendency to relegate Him to our last result. The one we only call in case of an emergency. We forget that, in addition to salvation during eternity, He invites us to live a fulfilled life within Him and His power TODAY.
I would like to invite you to do something specific today. Before the end of this day, sit down alone and talk to God. Talk to Him about that situation that you’re living through, that problem that you have. Share with Him your concerns and your fears; what you’re working on.
And then? Trust Him. Tell Him so and confess your faith in Him. But more importantly than just saying it, actually have faith in Him and that He can do it.
Have faith in God.
And if that seems strange or peculiar to you to believe in what God has to say, I am inviting you to discover and consider what Jesus did for you. I pray that you may reach a new dimension, one that opens you up to new life experiences in Christ.
Whatever your situation may be, be abundantly blessed.
Do.
