Have you ever taken the time to consider what the things that you see, hear, or read can say about the person that you are? Does the type of music that you like or support get influenced by the personal life of the artist of the music? This month we take a look at the album You Can’t See Me which was created by John Cena and Tha Trademarc.

You Can’t See Me came out May 10th, 2005. It is a 17 track album and I have to say right out the bat that it is probably one of the cringiest things that I have heard in a very long time.

Don’t get me wrong, when it comes to John Cena, he is a good wrestler even though his character is cocky. But the songs that have made up this album are so full of cringy songs or lyrics that at one point I really started to consider if he was an artist worth listening to. Shown below are examples of lyrics that I have found cringy.

Cena spittin with the Bump Bump Bump for the Knux

Your whole crew gettin dumped dumped dumped with the chumps

We rollin like Donald Trump Trump Trump with the bucks

Your bitch-ass gettin jump jump jumped cause you suck

Follow me, you stick around round round when it's hot

You claimin that you down down down but you not

You try to offer me a pound pound pound you get got

I can't wait to hear the sound sound sound of you shot

You hearin me, it's time to show show show I got plans

That's all you brought you bettter go go go get your mans

A legal hustle, ain't no no fuckin with grams

Stash the heat cause I can throw throw throw with my hands

I'm tellin you, on screen screen screen with these flicks

Catch me on the scene scene scene with three chicks

I fuck like a fiend fiend fiend with three dicks

Fuck a sixteen teen teen I'm just sick”

Keep Frontin

-  John Cena, Tha Trademarc

It took a couple of tries to listen to the complete album because it is pretty upsetting. Growing up, I was a huge fan of wrestling and occasionally am still a fan. One of my favorite wrestlers/ performers was John Cena even though he could be very cocky. He had a presence and showmanship with the ability to sell his character or story arch and I enjoyed that but when it comes to his music I can not enjoy his work. He and his team have chosen some very catchy beats but his lyrics are beyond questionable that even those can not save his standing within my opinion. Overall the album will be 2.5/10.
